"Years ago, when my wife and I lived in Colorado, one of my favorite people was our physician, Dr. John Hill. Once I picked up All In, I couldn’t put it down. By the title, you know you’ll get stories about his brushes with death climbing the world’s tallest mountains, but you also get his raw and honest spiritual journey of loving his daughter as she wandered from his care, and then losing her son, his grandson, after only 11 weeks of life. All that to say, this isn’t me just recommending a friend’s book. I’d recommend it regardless who wrote it, I just happen to also know that John is the real deal, which makes the book even better. I should also add, I did climb with him once and wouldn’t recommend that as much as I recommend his book. He’s unquestionably part mountain goat, which I am not. I spent the day fighting off altitude sickness as my doctor bounded from rock to rock. Good times."
